Provider Comparison / Pricing guide
How Much Does Job Posting Data Cost? 2026 Pricing Guide
Short answer: job posting data costs anywhere from free to six figures a year. Self-serve APIs start at $49 a month, bulk raw records cost a fraction of a cent each, and enterprise labor market platforms typically sign six-figure annual contracts. What you pay depends on three things: how the data is delivered, how much of it you need, and how much cleaning is already done.
Canaria publishes this guide and is one of the providers in it. Competitor prices come from their own pricing pages.

What the money buys: price per record
Headline prices hide the number that matters, which is what you pay per usable record. Here is the math for Canaria's published plans. One API credit returns one search record; a bulk export costs 0.8 credits per record. Annual billing takes 15% off.
| Plan | Monthly price | Volume | Per record |
|---|---|---|---|
| API Lite | $49 | 1,000 credits | $0.049 |
| API Starter | $149 | 5,000 credits | $0.030 |
| API Growth | $499 | 25,000 credits | $0.020 |
| API Scale | $1,499 | 100,000 credits | $0.015 |
| API Enterprise | Custom | Custom | $0.005 to $0.01 |
| Flat file 500K | $2,500 | 500,000 postings | $0.005 |
| Flat file 1M | $4,000 | 1 million postings | $0.004 |
| Flat file 3M | $9,000 | 3 million postings | $0.003 |
| Flat file 5M | $12,500 | 5 million postings | $0.0025 |
| Flat file 10M | $20,000 | 10 million postings | $0.002 |
Source: Canaria pricing. Every flat-file posting arrives deduplicated and enriched.
At volume, enriched data costs about what raw data does. At 10 million postings a month, Canaria's enriched records cost $0.002 each. Bright Data lists raw scraped records at up to $0.0025 each, before any classification or deduplication.
What drives the price
- Delivery model. APIs charge per query and suit lookups and product features. Flat files charge a monthly subscription and suit analytics, warehouses and backtests.
- Volume and history. More postings per month cost more in total but less per record. A historical backfill is often quoted separately from the ongoing feed.
- Enrichment. Raw postings carry title, company, location and text. Occupation and industry codes, normalized titles, skills, salary estimates and deduplication are what cost money to produce, whether a vendor does it or your team does.
- Usage rights. Embedding data in a product you sell is usually licensed differently from internal analysis. Ask before you sign.
The hidden cost: cleaning raw data yourself
A raw feed is cheap to buy and expensive to use. Before it can answer "how is hiring for nurses changing in Texas?", every posting needs an occupation code, a location, a normalized title and a check that the same job was not counted five times across boards.
We estimate that building this in-house costs $500,000 to $1 million in the first year and $200,000 or more a year to maintain. That is the number to compare against an enriched feed, not the per-record price of raw data. Canaria's records arrive with it done: 1B+ collected postings reduce to 400M+ unique jobs after two-stage semantic deduplication, coded to 867 SOC occupations and 1,012 NAICS industries. How to get a real quote
- Write down the geography, date range, occupations and fields you need.
- Request a sample built on those filters, not a generic one. Canaria's is free: 5,000 records.
- Ask for the price per record at your volume, for the feed and for the backfill.
- Ask for the ratio of unique jobs to collected postings, and how duplicates are matched.
- Confirm usage rights, delivery format and refresh cadence in writing.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How much does job posting data cost?
- From nothing to six figures a year. Free tiers and trials exist (Canaria gives 500 API credits a month; TheirStack and PredictLeads have free starts). Self-serve APIs start at $49 per month at Canaria, Coresignal and TheirStack. Bulk raw datasets start at a $250 minimum at Bright Data, and enriched flat-file subscriptions start at $2,500 per month at Canaria. Enterprise labor market platforms such as Lightcast, Revelio Labs and LinkUp do not publish prices and typically sign six-figure annual contracts.
- What is the cheapest job posting data?
- Per raw record, bulk scraped datasets: Bright Data lists up to $0.0025 per record. Per analysis-ready record, the answer changes, because raw records still need classification and deduplication. Canaria's enriched flat files cost $0.005 per posting at 500,000 a month and fall to $0.002 at 10 million a month, with occupation and industry codes, normalized titles, skills and deduplication already done.
- Is there free job posting data?
- Yes, in small or aggregate form. Canaria's free API tier includes 500 credits a month and a free 5,000-record sample. Public sources cover narrower needs: USAJOBS offers an API for US federal postings, and the BLS JOLTS survey publishes job-openings estimates (survey counts, not postings).
- Should I buy job posting data by API or as flat files?
- Use an API when you look records up on demand or power a product feature, and pay per query. Use flat files when you analyze the whole market, run backtests or load a warehouse, and pay a predictable monthly price. Flat files are almost always cheaper per record at volume: Canaria's API costs $0.015 per credit on the Scale plan, while its flat files cost $0.002 to $0.005 per posting.
- How much does it cost to build job posting data in-house?
- Canaria estimates $500,000 to $1 million in the first year and $200,000 or more a year after that, for collection infrastructure plus the classification, deduplication and salary models that turn raw postings into usable data.
